Individual Counselling
We provide person-centred counselling so that each therapy session and journey is tailored specifically to meet your needs and goals. We provide a counselling space that is warm, relaxed and non-judgemental so you are free to bring any issues that may be emotionally difficult and we will work through them with you.
Most clients will see a therapist once a week for counselling. Our counsellors cater to a wide range of emotional, psychological and relationship issues. We believe in staying with a client through any painful experience and exploring what that’s like for you.
We use a range of tools including exploring thought patterns & negative self-talk, dealing with trauma & difficult past experiences/memories, fertility counselling, grief/loss, work stress, addiction, relationship issues, suicidal ideation, adoption, baby loss, parenting or family issues and more.
Our therapists use approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Counselling, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Choice Theory and more, to help you to deal with your pain and find coping strategies that work for you.
Maynooth Counselling and Psychotherapy (MCAP) is Maynooth’s most established private practice of qualified professional counsellors. We have been operating in County Kildare since 2006.
We do face-to-face counselling from our bases in Maynooth, Leixlip and Dublin and also offer teletherapy and video counselling to clients elsewhere in Ireland, Northern Ireland, Britain and other countries. All of our therapists are members of the Irish Association of Counselling Psychotherapists or the Irish Association of Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapy.
