What is counselling?

Counselling and Psychotherapy provides a space just for you that is non-judgemental, so that you can explore issues, either past or present, that may be emotionally difficult, or might be interfering in your life and relationships.

In the sessions, you can explore and resolve issues in a safe & supported way with your therapist. Together, you will discover healthier ways to cope, or find ways to let go of the past.

The purpose of therapy is to enable you to lead a fuller, happier life, learning to think in a healthier way and increasing self-awareness and self-confidence.

Maynooth Counselling and Psychotherapy (MCAP) is Maynooth’s most established private practice of qualified professional counsellors having been set up in 2006. Our counsellors cater to a wide range of emotional, psychological and relational issues presented and work with children, teenagers, adults, couples and families.

We do so in a warm, grounded, ethical and non-judgmental way and respect the often vulnerable and painful feelings of our clients and the sensitive nature of what they may present.

All our therapists are members of the Irish Association of Counselling Psychotherapists or the Irish Association of Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapy.
